VISION: Established, North American real estate development company acquires, constructs, leases, and manages large commercial properties. Commercial demand is very strong. Company is targeting high-growth and affluent metropolitan areas to build. Revenues are increasing over 100% year-over-year. There are multiple real estate development projects (>$250 million) scheduled for completion in 2025 and 20+ projects in the pipeline (2026-2028).
OPPORTUNITY: The Parent Company acquired a manufacturer of pre-engineered metal buildings several years ago to become vertically integrated. This acquisition guarantees production capacity and achieve optimum manufacturing margin for construction projects. This role will lead human resources within the manufacturing subsidiary and support human resources across multiple construction projects in Texas.
- Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.
- Assist in the coordination of open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs.
- Respond to human resources-related inquiries.
- Perform weekly payroll processing.
- Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies.
- Draft and update position descriptions.
- Administer new employee on-boarding and orientation.
- Develop and maintain talent management processes including leading annual review process and coordinating employee development plans and performance management.
- Monitor employee morale and company culture.
- Collaborate to develop effective recruitment strategies including generating position descriptions, posting advertisements, and coordinating the hiring process.
- Identify future staffing needs.
- Process complaints regarding sexual harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions.
- Maintain employee personnel records.
- Conduct exit interviews and recommend corrective action if necessary.
- Lead annual review process.
- Coordinate employee development plans and performance management.
REQUIREMENTS: 3+ years of HR generalist experience working in a high-growth, manufacturing or distribution operating environment or 3+ years of HR generalist experience working in a commercial real estate, construction company. Looking for someone that has served as a #1 or #2 HR leader.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- Successful work experience as a Human Resources Generalist.
- Strong understanding of employment laws, regulations and best practices including FLSA, ADA, FMLA.
- Experience with HR Software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook).
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic regarding the challenges of a dynamic environment.
REWARD: Up to $130,000 in base salary, plus annual cash bonus and annual equity reward opportunities.
